The Observer showed the biggest monthly gain of any Sunday newspaper for the second month running, but all the weekly titles lost sales year on year.
The Observer was up 2.3% month on month to record an average weekly circulation of 229,183 in October, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures published on Friday.
The Sunday Times and Sunday Telegraph were also up on September. The News UK title was up 1.6% to 836,822, while the Sunday Telegraph grew 0.6% to 443,082.
But all three titles were down year on year, the Sunday Times slipping the most, down 7.4% compared with October 2012. The Observer was down 3.7%, while the Sunday Telegraph was down 0.5%
